Episode summary

In this episode of The People-Driven CEO Podcast, Shane sits down with Adam Silvertown, Founder and CEO of Pace Pharmacy and Compounding Experts, to talk about entrepreneurship, personalized healthcare and what it takes to scale a highly regulated business without losing the human side of care.

Adam shares the moment that pushed him away from traditional big-box pharmacy and toward building something of his own. What began as one Toronto pharmacy, where Adam was initially the only employee, has grown into two locations, a team of roughly 60 people and a specialty compounding model built around creating medication solutions for the individual rather than forcing every patient into a standard option.

The conversation explores the realities of adding locations, building systems, developing leaders and learning how the founder’s role has to change as a company grows. Adam and Shane also discuss the importance of making patients feel heard, creating a culture of trust and independence, and how Adam’s experience spotting gaps in healthcare ultimately led him to launch VetMeds for pet owners as well.
